Plug-in for BlueCAD 2.0
Plug-ins are applications specifically created for BlueCAD that allow customization to meet the most sophisticated needs.
They have the following characteristics:
- They are applications external to BlueCAD, in particular they are DLLs (Dynamic Link Libraries), and can therefore be created with the most suitable development tool, thus overcoming the intrinsic limitation of the Basic language of BlueCAD SCRIPT. It is therefore virtually possible to create any customization that can be thought of for a two-dimensional CAD.
- They have the possibility of being integrated with any tool external to BlueCAD, such as databases or other.
- They have the possibility of directly accessing the programming library of the BlueCAD graphic kernel, at a level of total integration, decidedly superior to that, although high, possible with the Basic Script.
- The plug-in features are completely integrated with the existing ones, both in terms of interface and operation. After a simple installation procedure, in fact, the plug-in commands will be present in the BlueCAD menus and toolbars alongside the native commands, without the need for any intervention by the user. Given the high level of integration with the program, their use will give the perception of using a native command. For example, it is possible to customize the positioning and modification echoes of the objects.
- Furthermore, the plug-in, regardless of the commands it adds, can intercept all the main operations and all the native commands before and after their execution and modify or integrate their operation.
- The integration of the plug-ins with BlueCAD has such efficiency characteristics that allow for limited programming times, with consequent development costs that are decidedly economical, especially in relation to the results that can be achieved.
- All subsequent updates of BlueCAD will be compatible with the plug-in.
